How to Talk to someone I like.. Please Help?

So theres a new kid at my school but he is from a school over and hes really cute and I like him. I feel like he looks at me sometimes but i never know if its actually me or if its just past me. I was in practice one day and he was practicing another sport and he started to ask me random questions about the sport. and i was throwing discus and he clapped when i threw it because it was horrible. I like him i have 1 class with him and i dont really know how to talk to him or anything. I want to draw his attention more and maybe get a chance to flirt with him. I am pretty I guess. I get told it by alot of guys but i dont feel like i am but i try to be confident. so any advice would be really good. thank you :)
