Scraped knee, exposed fat?

Earlier today, I fell off my bike, riding down a steep hill, and I scraped a lot of skin off my knee, exposing some fat. Will I have to have it treated by a doctor or would it heal on its own like a regular scrape? Is it gonna be a perminent scar?
