I got a tooth exposed a while ago and the chain fell off. How long until the surgery heals over?

Not too long ago, I got a tooth exposed. The chain fell off and I'm on vacation, so I can't see my dentist/orthodontist. How long would it take for the surgery to heal over and I'll have to have it exposed again?
