Is it normal for rashes to develop on burn scars?

I was in the vicinity of an oxygen cannister which exploded resulting in chemical burn wounds on my arm. There was tissue burn and fat nerosis and now after exactly 2 months the burn has healed leaving deep scars and a slight deformity in the shape of my arm due to the fat necrosis. Following healing of the wound I now seem to be getting a rash (like prickly heat) on the scars. I am just wondering if this is a part of the healing process? it is rather itchy so i am thinking of cold compress and calamine to relieve it. Up until now I have simply massaged the area with olive oil but it does not seem to help the itchiness. Any insights? thanks so much.
