When to re-pierce my tragus?

I got my tragus pierced in March and the healing process began really nicely.. no problems at all. Early last week, for some unknown reason, the piercing swelled really big - too big for the jewellry and had a bleeding fit. I work a job in public health so i took the piercing out and cleaned it for the sake of looking professional (lol). I waited overnight for the swelling to die so I could put the piercing back it, but the swelling didn't die for three days. Now, there is no swelling and my ear is just fine. I would like to get it redone on the same side next week.. is that too short to wait?
