Before you consider keeping discus, get the proper size tank. They need a 75 gallon for a school. A breeding pair can get by in a 55. A 30 gallon could only be used as a grow out for discus. The guy in the store is trying to make money. 30 gallons is not suitable for adult discus.

I have a very established 90 gallon tank- 8 days ago I added 2 three inch discus to my tank and they are doing excellent- my water conditions are identical to the tanke they came from. I've had a scar on my neck for 22 years of my life that will NEVER HEAL. I stopped shaving them because my skin is too sensitive no matter what razer I use, and no matter what I use I can never get a close enough shave. There's always stubble because I just can't shave close enough no matter what kind of a razer I use. I used to use Shik Intuition Plus but even that irritated my sensitive skin so I stopped. About a month or so ago I stopped shaving my legs altogether because they needed to heal from being shaved. My skin is way to sensitive!!!!!!!!!!! But they've healed now. Right now at this very moment I'm using Smooth Away on my legs. Smooth Away DOES work for me. My only problem with Smooth Away is that it takes WAY too long. The results are good but they are NOT worth the effort. But even with Smooth Away I still have some stubble that I can't get rid of. This morning, because I hadn't shaved in so long, my legs were like a hairy man's. My leg hair is like man leg hair. It's so thick! So now I have to throw out razers and Smooth Away because neither of those will work on the stubble. Next I'm gonna try a hair removal cream and see if that will remove the stubble. What hair removal cream do you suggest I try? If that doesn't work I'll resort to waxing. Waxing just has to remove the stubble from my legs, right? Hey people. I got problems with my parents and sister. Before I start let me tell you what kind of son I have been. I have never done a crime, don't do drugs, never back talk, and always try to support them. I am definately not spoiled because I have had 3 jobs throughout college and do all I can to help pay for college. Ok so here is the problem. Last year I played college football but injured both my knees and now back home. I struggled a little bit with school but still got a decent GPA a 2.8 and still have my academic scholarship now that I am back at community college. I played division 1-AA football last year and hope to play again next spring semester. Either go back to the school I was at or go some where else. But since I struggled in school a little bit my parents and sister are always saying mean things. My dad called me black sheep of the family sometimes this last half year. My mom says I always stress her out. And my sister being the annoying tool that she is tries to fit in some mean comments to me as well. I feel like they don't love me anymore and are ready to give up on me. I don't understand. These things they say does not do well for my confidence or self esteem. I've been stretching my ears for about 9/10 months now. Last month when I tried stretching to 7/16ths I really messed up my ears. Discus should only be housed with other discus for many reasons. They have very specific water conditions that not many other fish have,and you need to change the water twice a week. They all were doing wonderful together! Until 1 of my tetras got ich, I treated it seemed to be gone, but is now back and has spread to 1 bala, 2gourami's and the same tetra! I am treating again. So this week my track coach begged me to do the decathlon for high school track (I'm a junior) and two of the events are the 1500m and 400m races. The meet is this friday. I am a thrower (javelin/shot put/discus) and have never ran a race in a meet before. Obviously I've ran before but never timed or anything. So my question is how do I run these two races, like what pace should I go at and are there any tips or tricks to these races? I'm a decent runner, I think my sophomore year I did around a 6:20 mile. I'm a 17 year old senior who is going to be throwing in college at this point. I am 6'1" and anround 240 lb, but im trying to lose fat and replace it with muscle. Around 220 is my goal for weight. I threw 140 sophomore year (when i was still 15) but i havent improved much since. I throw 140s-150s pretty consistently, but at my last meet i opened up with a 163 footer that i toe fouled :/ (they measured it anyways though, just didnt count it). Even though my season is over, I am still going to work with my coach and throw, and my goal is to be at around 170 consistently, hopefully 180 before the summer is out. However I need some guidance in order to do that, and my coach doesnt have too many answers. Can i have some tips for lifts i should do? I want to heavily increase my explosive strength, especially my "pull" in the discus throw. Also any tips for form would be welcome. My consistent problems seem to be that I come off a very narrow base, my disc doesnt have a whole lot of flight or height for that matter, and although my steps for the spin are pretty consistently good, I dont really "attack" the throw at the end, and as a result my throws dont have as much velocity as I'd like. I would REALLY REALLY REALLY love some constructive tips/guidance on how to achieve this goal. Any experts on the matter are welcome. Thanks!

My boyfriend took an out of town job, He has totally changed Who he is?? It is ruining us , what do I do?

He never talked to me about it in person. He just took the job. So it started off bad. He denied my calls, visits,texts and basically said I just had to accept it. He is now living two hours away and comes home only on weekends. He says that we will have all this time on the weekends and then when the weekends roll around he never gives me the time we need. He says it is because he doesn't want to discus our issues but the whole situation is messed up and we need to talk it over and figure it out. I am 31 and he is 28. My daughter is 11 and they are very close. He calls her his daughter and she calls him her dad. Once he got there he was just there days and he already was talking about buying a house there of his own and I couldn't believe it. SO my dilemma is Yes, I know life changes things and even though we planned to stay here forever this job offer came up and he is happy there. He and his friends say that if I loved him that we would follow him there. However, I am not selling my business and my home and taking my daughter out of school to go live next to him in an apartment, If we dated another year and then we got married and we bought a house together then yes I would move there for him because that is what you do. However there is no commitment there and it is unfair for him to even expect me to dat him with weekends only while he makes plans for his future by himself? Meanwhile our plans are out the window because he is scared of the next steps of the relationship. It makes me sad and i don't want to lose him nut I don't know what to do? you can keep quite a fe wtankmates with discus, some people are just fanatics about the discus. they like to take their time to eat so dont keep anything that would eat everything before they can. and nothing that will nip fins. most discus these days are tank raised and have become suited to higher ph levels in the 7's so basically find fish that are peaceful that aren't fin nippers and wont eat all the food before they can get to it that like your ph levels. also, bushynose plecos are the best algae eaters to keep with discus because they wont attach themselves to the discus slimecoat and they are exceptional algae eaters as a plus. you can keep loaches, tetras, dwarf gouramis, dwarf cichlids such as blue or german rams, just to name a few.

How do i heal my dogs nose peeling?

My dog's nose seem to be peeling from the outer corners inward. It's covering the whole left half of his nose. I mentioned it to the vet the other day and I plan to again in the next couple of days after I see how it progresses, since it could possibly be a sunburn. my skin has been breaking out lately and it's really dry and irritated and i have little scabs from pimples and they won't heal. i have been putting polysporin on them and also vaseline to moisturize the little spots but what could i use as a moisturizer for my whole face? first i cleanse with glycerin soap and i have a no name brand of the clean and clear dual action moisturizer and its medicated but it makes my skin feel dry and tight and irritated. I have been using clinique clarifying lotion (2) or clearasil daily cleansing pads but all of these things irritate my skin. What can i do for this? i have lubriderm for sensitive skin can i use this on my face? i need some help please!!

Can Spondylolisthesis still worsen if I have no pain?

1 year ago I started getting back pain and found out I had bilateral pars fracture on my L5 vertebrae. I was told to stop all sports and activities that put stress on my back for 6 months to allow my back time to heal and to make sure my spine wouldnt slip. During this time I had quite a lot of pain even though I didnt play any sports. After the 6 months I went for a check up and found that my spine had slipped 4mm forward and the fracture still hadn't healed. Now, it has been 1 year and I have been fully involved in sports for the last 6 months and am experiencing almost no pain at all and am able to play as much as i want. Occasionally my back will hurt a bit but is fine by the next day. MY QUESTION is, Can my spine still be slipping forward even if I have no pain or symptoms? Is it dangerous that I'm playing sports with this injury? btw I play soccer

Spondylolysis...is recovery normally this hard?

Ok so I need a no B.S assessment. I've tried the advice of doctors and therapists alike without satisfaction, and now i turn to the public. My condition involves spondylolysis, a fracture of the lumbar spine. Now in my particular case a recent MRI shows that the condition had healed from a previous MRI 6 months before (followed by rest/brace/recovery) and the problem was corrected. Now i know that just because the MRI cleared the condition it didnt necessarily mean I was pain free, I had to work my muscles back into shape in order to continue sports. But here is where the problem lies, I've been exercising and performing PT workouts for the past 3 months and at times I still feel the sharp grueling pain from spondylolysis. My doctor told me I might have these back aches for some time but considering I'm young (17), shouldn't my body have been able to heal by now. Certain movements cause pain during exercise (such as arching the spine) while others are pain free. I desperately need some help here. Please anyone who has similar stories, or success with this problem feel free to "spill your guts" so to speak and tell me everything. Why does recovery feel this way?

i feel your pain but I think that you should let her know that you feel this way. She has to let her family know how much she cares and loves you so that they will back off or at least be more considerate. That way hher family will be aware that she really loves you and they will hopefully stop tampering with your relationship. you could have a bare tank, but you wont keep plants unless you put them in pots which would look stupid, also i try to replicate the environments as closely as possible, so for me its not an option, but if you were to you would have to bee pretty bone idle. get gravel, then you can use a gravel vac to glean it, its a doddle and easier than sand. to hide the intakes, id use rocks, or bogwood, i usually have well planted tanks, and the plants grow up to cover the inlets, not block them, but keep them out of view. the trouble with a foam rock scape is that although its easy enough, if you mess it up, then it can knock the ph up to about 10, no more discus, you have to either cure it, which can take months, or seal it (look up g4 pond sealant) but this can wear off after about 4 years at which point the cement will leech chemicals if not cured and kill the fish.

Why am i getting wow lag?

I have high fps and great ping or ms, so im trying to figure out the problem. I already tried messing around with the v sync, trip buffering, and reduce input lag. I have an old macbook ( 1.83Ghz, intel core duo) with the 10.5.8 update. Sometimes i play fine, but a lot of the time when i do a cast, for example heal, my guy just stand there still casting until i move ( screen lag). All my settings are on low and cant be changed higher, so i guessing its the video card in my mac.

We were burgled a couple of years back. We gave statements which detailed the stuff that had been taken, mainly jewellery. The burglar was prosecuted and served time, and the the investigation seems to have concluded. It seems they have no record of what evidence they held and it may have been lost in the system. Unfortunately, I do believe your other fish have eaten your discus. If you leave your fish alone for 5 days, they will become hungry and start picking on their tank mates. If the discus was smaller than the other fis, or weaker, then it is most probable that they ate him. I am sorry to tell you that. And trust me, 5 days is enough time for the fish you have to completely consume a discus. Sorry.

55 Gallon planted tank.. with Goldfish?

Hi everyone, I have a 55 gallon which will be done in 2 weeks and I plan on getting fancy goldfish. I also really want a planted tank. I've seen it done before but how does one do it? Oh and please dont worry about weekly water changers and water quality :) I have a 125 gallon Discus tank so I'm pretty experienced with that.
